The McDowell Camp and Conference Center
The mission of Camp McDowell is to show the way the world could be through worship, learning, rest, and play in the beauty of God's Backyard. The McDowell Camp and Conference Center is a ministry of the Episcopal Churches in the Diocese of Alabama and is open to all. With over 1,140 acres and 834 beds, McDowell is one of the largest Episcopal Camp and Conference Centers in the U.S.
The Most Rev. Michael B Curry, Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church
The Most Rev. Michael Bruce Curry is presiding bishop and primate of The Episcopal Church. He was elected in 2015 to a nine-year term in this role, and the animating vision and message of his ministry is Jesus of Nazareth and his model of radical, sacrificial love.
The Rt. Rev. Glenda S. Curry, Bishop of Alabama
The Rt. Rev. Glenda S. Curry, Ph.D, is the 12th Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Alabama. She was consecrated as bishop coadjutor on June 27, 2020, and was recognized and invested as bishop diocesan on January 9, 2021, at the Cathedral Church of the Advent.

Cursillo in Alabama
Cursillo is a community of faith that is dedicated to exploring the love of God and sharing God's love with each other. Cursillo in the Diocese of Alabama begins with a three–day weekend at Camp McDowell. During these three days, lay people and clergy share their experiences and perspective on a variety of topics related to the love of God, the Christian life, and Christian community.

As followers of Jesus Christ, Christians are sent into the world to live lives inspired by his love and teaching and to bring that transforming and sacrificial love into all aspects of society. They invite others to find faith and follow Jesus as disciples, inspired to live a "Jesus Shaped Life".
