MUSIC
Everyone participates in the Music Ministry of St. Peter’s! In singing, playing, praying and listening, all are welcome to share in the musical aspects of our common worship together. The Music Ministry at St. Peter’s is a vital part of the parish and surrounding community. Our Sunday Morning Choir sings most Sundays at our 10:30am service of Holy Eucharist.
OUR STYLE
Our guitar choir leads music on the first and third Sundays of the month. Occasionally, instrumentalists enhance our anthems and congregational hymns. Music students participate in our Choral Scholar Program to enhance our worship experience by offering their strong voices.
OUR ORGAN
Our magnificent and historic Hook & Hastings pipe organ has a history spanning more than a century. It has served as the principal instrument in worship at St. Peter’s since 1933 when the instrument was purchased from our neighbors at First Baptist Church of Talladega. In 2006, a total restoration and historically informed additions were made by The Parkey Organ Company of Atlanta, Georgia and under the consultation of Dr. Jim Dorrah.
