WHAT TO EXPECT ON SUNDAY MORNING

SUNDAY MORNINGS AT ST. PETER'S
ARE WELCOMING AND ENGAGING!

All are welcome. Come as you are. Participate as much as you like.

Let us know if you have questions or would like to know

more about who we are and what we’re about.

Worship is at the heart of our shared life at St. Peter’s and, and indeed throughout the Episcopal Church. Our worship is rooted in the rich heritage of faith, especially The Book of Common Prayer, commonly referred to as “the prayer book” which is found in each pew rack.

We use two hymnals, both found in the pew racks. One is the more formal music in the hardbound 1982 Hymnal. The other is more informal praise music found in the yellow Alleluia III hymnal.

We love the special energy and joy children bring to our community. We offer nursery care for infants and children through age 4, though we welcome infants and children of all ages in church. We offer children’s packets during church for young children to use and feel welcome and engaged. You may arrive early to get settled either in the nursery or with a children’s packet. The nursery opens at 10am prior to the 10:30 service.

All baptized Christians, regardless of age or denomination, are invited to God’s table and welcome to receive the Holy Communion of bread and wine.

You may receive a blessing at the altar, instead of receiving Holy Communion, simply by crossing your arms over your chest as a signal to the priest to say a blessing for you.

You may let an usher know that you would like to receive Holy Communion in your seat and they will let the priest know to bring it to you in your pew.

WORSHIP MINISTRIES

You will see a wide range of attire at St. Peter’s, with some people dressing up more and others dressing more casually. In other words, you may wear to church whatever makes you feel comfortably reverent.
