OUR HISTORY
St. Peter’s has a rich heritage as a legacy church that has deep roots in the heart of Talladega.
As early as 1836, it is recorded that a group of Episcopalians existed in Talladega, Alabama, in great need of a church home. As they were indeed a flock without a shepherd, it was to be their good....

A quaint stone church, adhering to its English heritage, St. Peter’s Episcopal Church is located on North Street, only a short stroll to the historic courthouse square of Talladega.
St. Peter’s has been a strong and faithful community since 1836, worshiping God and serving its community. The parish has consistently been a vital part of the city of Talladega. Come visit our parish and be a part of a heritage of service to God and others!

St. Peter’s embodies God’s message of hospitality. We welcome all to worship with us, and we also welcome all to gather with us to enjoy God ‘s love in each other’s company. As we serve God, we also serve each other. But even better- -we make it fun! From Mardi Gras shrimp suppers to picnics to game nights to Christmas parties to hospital visitations and weddings and even funerals— we are here for each other. That’s what God means for us to do. And we do it well here at St. Peter’s.
